My name is Francesco and I love boating which is also my main job. My partner Maritta, who is an expert in holiday homes, is managing the house for me.

The medieval fishing town of Portese, which is a hamlet of the Municipality of San Felice del Benaco, is built on a Morenic promontory on Lake Garda and this make my house unique; San Felice del Benaco is formed by three ancient villages: San Felice, Portese and Cisano.

The area of San Felice del Benaco has been inhabited since prehistoric times and was conquered by the Romans who left various archaeological relics, one of which is a tombstone dedicated to Neptune on the wall of the Parish church.

In the Xth century a Castle was built to protect the population from the Barbarians. When the people of Brescia conquered the Valtenesi in 1279 it was part of the Veronese domain, both the Castle and the town were destroyed and the inhabitants moved to the nearby village of San Felice.

My house is made just as interesting by the nearness of Lake Garda (500 mt): it is possible to visit beautiful places such as the Island of Garda which is just 600 metres from the shore and which has a beautiful residence which stands out against the blue sky; the Island is full of stories and legends and tourists and lovers of harmony and beauty can visit it from April to September. The departure point is the pier at the port of Portese.

The house is only about 500 mt. from the port of Portese and you can catch ferries and boats to visit the Lake.

We are surrounded by beautiful olive groves and vinyards so gourmet visitors can get a taste of our excellent oil and wines.

The local restaurants in Portese offer excellent fish dishes with the fish caught in our lake.
